Convenient for the initial installation of the sensor

During the initial installation of the sensor, the LED light bar on the panel can display the "effective measurement gap" of the sensor, which simplifies the initial installation process of the sensor.

Capacitive position sensor with the highest measuring accuracy

A unipolar capacitive sensor is a displacement sensor of direct measurements. The capacitive sensor measures the changes in capacitance values between the polar face and the measured face by using the uniform electric field between them to realize high-precision measurement of displacement. A noncontact measuring process ensures the highest resolution, linearity, and high bandwidth.

Different measuring bandwidths and ranges

Different measuring bandwidths can be set by an E-E01 signal processor to meet the measuring requirements of different users. If the measured face is static or in low dynamic motion, the measuring bandwidth, which can be as low as 10 Hz, can be set by the sensor system; if the measured face is in high dynamic motion, the measuring bandwidth, which can be as high as 1.24 KHz, can be set to enhance the dynamic measurement capability of sensor. The lower the bandwidth, the higher the resolution obtained by capacitive sensor.

For any columnar or flake unipolar capacitive sensor, the internal range amplification factor can be set by the E-E01 signal processor in the factory; the user can set the measuring range by choosing an amplification factor of 1x, 2x, and 5x. For example, the sensor with 100 μm physical measuring range can be used with the measurement range amplified to an extended measuring range of 500 μm (maximum). In addition, the manufacturer will calibrate the sensor according to the final measurement range specified by the user and provide Linearity Test Report along with the goods. In the case of switching among different measurement ranges, the user needs to send the unipolar sensor and the signal processor back to the manufacturer for matching calibration. The smaller the sensor's final measuring range, the higher the resolution.

Internal Linearized System (ILS)

All signal processing systems are integrated into ILS circuits to reduce the measurement influence of non-parallel errors between the polar face and the measured face.

Matching and calibrating by the manufacturer that enhances the measurement linearity

Users must order the sensor together with connecting cables, signal preamplifiers/converters (if necessary) and signal processors. At the end of manufacturing, for the whole system ordered, PI China will calibrate the linearity, set linearization, gain and offset, etc., eliminate the influence of cable capacitance in the process of calibration, and provide the Linearity Test Report to users along with the goods.

Linearity Test Report

The linearity of one measurement range can be calibrated by the unipolar capacitive sensor combined with the analog signal processor; during calibration, PI China measures and calibrates the linearity of the capacitive sensor with high-precision Zygo double-frequency laser interferometers and high-precision piezoceramic translation stages.

Multi-axis measuring application

E-E01 signal processor is provided with I/O ports, which can realize series network of multiple signal processors to constitute a multi-channel signal processing system, and the E-E12 series with an multi-channel signal processing system may also be selected.
